Payroll and Benefits Coordinator
Grant Memorial Baptist Church (Winnipeg, MB)

Job Summary:
The Payroll and Benefits Coordinator is responsible for the administration of the payroll and benefits processing on behalf of Grant Memorial Baptist Church (GMBC) hourly and salary staff as well as providing support to the finance department.

Time Requirements:
.50 FTE
General office hours are 8:30 to 4:30 Monday to Friday, alternative working hours will be required periodically to meet the requirements of the position.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide customer service to employees regarding their pay and benefit queries.
  • Process 2 separate payrolls for GMBC salary staff and hourly staff.
  • Set up of new employees and processing of employee changes on Payworks.
  • Administer the group benefit plan including new hire set up, employee record maintenance, and status changes.
  • Processes payment and reconciliation of recurring payroll and benefit accounts and statements Receiver General, WCB remittance.
  • Process & reconcile monthly benefit premium statements.
  • Maintain employee files, & look after tracking of vacation, sick, bank time, and other employee absences.
  • Process all hiring and termination related documentation, including preparation of ROE’s.
  • Monitor employee’s vacation usage, sick hours, and attendance management.
  • Payroll year-end reconciliation and T4 processing.
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned in a timely manner.

Qualifications:

  • Strong attention to detail

  • 2-3 years payroll administration
  • Experience working with payworks or other payroll products
  • 1-2 years in benefit enrollment and administration, reconciliation of benefit statements

Human Resources Coordinator
Grant Memorial Baptist Church (Winnipeg, MB)

Job Summary:
Reporting to the Executive Pastor this position is responsible for providing support for a wide variety of human resources activities, including responsibility for full-cycle recruitment, employee orientation, training and development, and the administration of other HR functions, while building continuous improvements to all processes.

Time Requirements:
28 hours per week. General office hours are 8:30 to 4:30 Monday to Friday, alternative working hours will be required periodically to meet the requirements of the position.

Qualifications:
Knowledge, skills and abilities

  • Completion of Post-Secondary education in Human Resources.
  • Minimum 3-4 years of experience in an Operational Human Resources role.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to be sensitive and provide due diligence in handling difficult or delicate situations.
  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking, decision making, and time management skills.
  • Experience with HRIS software.
  • A self-starter with the ability to take initiative and work independently.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
  • Knowledge of Provincial Labour laws, the Worker’s Compensation Board, Manitoba Workplace Safety and Health, current issues in Human Resources, and best industry practices.

  • Current Criminal Record check or be will to obtain one.

Property Manager
Grant Memorial Baptist Church (Winnipeg, MB)

Job Summary:
Grant Memorial Baptist Church is located at 877 Wilkes Avenue in Winnipeg, Manitoba and is a facility of approximately 160,000 square feet along with adjoining parking lots and field. This facility is jointly used by Grant Memorial Baptist Church and Linden Christian School. Collaboratively with the Building Manager, lead and manage the administrative property management functions for the Grant Memorial Baptist Church and Linden Christian School. Primary responsibilities include planning, budgeting, financial management, and facility user relations. The property management team is an integral part of the ministry and will provide support in a manner consistent with the ministry philosophies and objectives of Grant Memorial Baptist Church and Linden Christian School Inc.

Time Requirements:

Lead Pastor
Friendship Community Church (Saanichton, BC)

Friendship Community Church is seeking applications for the position of full-time Lead Pastor.

Friendship Community Church (FCC) is located on the beautiful Saanich Peninsula in Saanichton, British Columbia, 15 minutes north of Victoria on southern Vancouver Island.

FCC is a healthy, thriving church community affiliated with the Baptist General Conference of Canada with a weekly attendance of 350-375 people of all ages. FCC is a multi-staffed church made up of a lead, associate, worship & women’s, youth and children's pastors as well as several other part-time ministry staff. Along with the staff and many volunteers, we provide two Sunday morning worship services; children's, youth & young adult programs; an active women's ministry; weekly Bible studies and small groups; a monthly youth oriented service; annual men's and women's retreats; seniors events; as well as summer day camps and other events for the community at large. As a church, we actively support a number of local ministries as well as global mission organizations in Nigeria and the Dominican Republic.

The lead pastor will be the primary spiritual leader of the congregation, who will discern and implement God's direction and purposes for FCC, in conjunction with other ministry staff and the church board. The lead pastor will lead by example and will be effective in the areas of preaching, pastoral care, teaching, staff oversight, training and leadership development.

Pastor of Youth & Worship
Calvary Baptist Church (Drayton Valley, AB)

Church Description:

We are a church located in Drayton Valley Alberta, a rural community one hour West of Leduc.

Oil and gas is the primary driver of Drayton Valley's economy (Like many Alberta towns). Agriculture and forestry also play roles in the local economy. A saw mill is located in the town. The population is approximately 7,000 with about 30,000 in the surrounding area. Drayton Valley is home to six public schools that are part of the Wild Rose School Division, and two schools that are part of the Catholic School Division.

We (Calvary Baptist Church) are affiliated with the Baptist General Conference of Canada and we hold to their statement of beliefs. We have been a part of the community for more than 50 years. Our congregation meets regularly on Sundays at 10:30 am for Worship with around 100 in attendance on average. We are a mixture of all ages with notably more young families and seniors. It is our desire to hire someone called to pastor here in this community in the areas of youth and worship (music).

District Minister

DISTRICT MINISTER
BAPTIST GENERAL CONFERENCE OF SASKATCHEWAN

The BGCS is a district of the Baptist General Conference of Canada, comprising of an association of like-minded churches across Saskatchewan.  We are currently in need of a District Minister to champion and nurture health and growth among our churches.  With 13 churches of varying sizes and health in Saskatchewan, the key roles of the District Minister will be to: a) assist churches in becoming healthy, sustainable and disciple producing: and b) facilitate a common purpose and mutual support among the churches in the district.

The position will be a minimum half time position with the possibility of additional affiliative work.
