Leaders who are Rooted and Growing
CBS is the both
Graduate
School
of the Baptist General Conference of Canada (BGCC) and a member of ACTS Seminaries, the Graduate Theological School of Trinity Western University. This partnership allows CBS to raise up godly BGC Christian leaders through graduate-level, theological training for such vocations as: pastors, counselors, bible translators, missionaries, cross cultural church planters, chaplains and various other ministry and leadership positions. |

As a full member in the ACTS Consortium, the seminary participates in cutting- edge church leadership education. ACTS represents a decidedly unique approach to seminary education. Although the faculty represent five denominations, they are committed to serving the needs of each constituency with integrity and faithfulness. For a fraction of the cost necessary to run an independent seminary, the BGCC can enjoy the benefits of a fully equipped Canadian seminary and university environment. |

Dr. Ed Stuckey begins his role as Interim CBS President on August 1, 2008. Ed has been involved with CBS right from the beginning--Ed was on the first CBS Board of Regents back in 1990--and has served on both the national and district BGC board, and so is well prepared to take on the leadership of the Seminary. In addition, he is also Director of The Journey, a Graduate Centre for Christian Leadership in Edmonton, affiliated with three of the member seminaries of ACTS (including CBS). Prior to this role, he was pastor of Ellerslie Road Baptist Church, Edmonton (1985-2008) and Grace Bible Church in Dauphin, MB (1980-85). He has also done adjunct teaching at ACTS seminaries in Theology. He is a graduate of the University of Western Ontario (Hon BA, History), and Dallas Theological Seminary (ThM in Pastoral Ministries and DMin in Preaching and Communication). Ed and his wife Jan have three children (Tricia, Ian and Pam) and a number of grandchildren, and enjoy working in ministry, reading, hiking, gardening, canoeing and Ed especially enjoys woodcutting and trail building at their lake-front retreat property. |
