Wow, that’s pretty direct. Blunt is maybe more accurate. I’ve heard the statement used in business contexts and it invites listeners to grow their organizations. Usually “growth” involves revenues, or contacts, or production, or sales in general.

Global Passion

I spent last Saturday with a couple heading from Canada to an overseas appointment. I’d tell you where, but the politics of the region they are heading to makes it dicey to even mention it by name. I was impressed with them. No I take that back, I was really impressed with them.

Haiti Earthquake Response

Greetings,

Undoubtedly you are aware of the earthquake in Haiti and consequent destruction. It dominates our world headlines, but its shockwaves reverberate into the BGCC as we have six Haitian congregations in Montreal, all of which have close ties in Haiti, as well as a number of mission related contacts through BGC churches.

In these kinds of situations there is often a strong desire to financially contribute to the recovery needs. If that is something you wish or your congregation to engage in, we encourage you to use the disaster relief efforts of World Relief Canada, our partnering organization in these kinds of matters. Gifts can be made directly to World Relief Canada with annotation "Haiti Earthquake Response" or they can be sent to us here in Edmonton and we'll forward them on to World Relief posthaste. World Relief is a fine organization and we highly endorse their integrity and efficiency. Should you choose to send along relief efforts, our Canadian government is participating in matching individual donations up to 50 million dollars. The gifts must be donated between January 12 and February 12, 2010 and be clearly marked for the Haiti Earthquake Response.
